SEGA's second and most successful system, the 16-Bit Genesis/ Mega-Drive had the third party support that the Master System never had and the advantage that most of it's best games where
made by SEGA itself or SEGA collaborating with other companies. I remember having a BIG box full of games for it, that I regretfully sold (not a good idea selling them to Electronic Boutique). I only
own a handful of games now and I can safely say the Genesis is one of my favorite systems of all time. I spent all the decade of the nineties playing classics like Sonic, Streets of Rage, Ghosts n Ghouls, Ranger X, I could go on.
I remember the heated battles with my brother and friends playing Street Fighter II, Eternal Champions and how could I forget the bloodier and faster version of Mortal Kombat. Also playing the season of Bulls vs. Blazers and NBA Showdown until I made my brother mad. remember going to my friend's house and win the championship of NHL 95 with him and playing his Toe Jam and Earl 'till we fall on the edge of too many worlds. Good times!!
on the right side pics here we can see the model 1 Genesis, the Model 2 Genesis, the most common, the Model 3, the great boomerang-like controller, the excellent Power-Base converter that allow you to play Master System games, The incredibly well built Arcade Stick, the weird but great 6-button version of the controller for fighting games and Ranger X, AND last but not least the SEGA Menacer 6, the answer to the SNES Super Scope. I owned that thing and it had good intentions, it kinda worked but in the end it was awful, plus there weren't many games for it (about 3 I guess).
Like the other one I did before, you'll need to download to zoom in and see the wallpaper, in detail. i hate that, why the zoom icon doesn't show?
Do you have a Genesis/MegaDrive memory? What's your favorite game?
